- james_65c25597a6b6c Read above then rake the beach and while your at it add an outdoor or indoor showing area to wash the seaweed and dead fish off! Hammondsport and Garrett Chaple were good side trips. Penyan has Aldi and drug stores much closer.8 months ago Keuka Lake State Park
- _261 - We also really enjoy the Keuka "Outlet" trail. No, there are no outlet stores, the pathway follows a river that links Keuka and Seneca lakes. It's a VERY simple trail for walking, bike, strollers etc. It is downhill towards Seneca lake (so the water flows) but not steep. Only a few very short sections have a modest hill to go up, but you simply walk up those few sections. - Very close to "Keuka Wine Trail". This is a very popular wine tasting day and some site have spectacular views of Keuka lake. - If you did not bring a kayak, our friend rented one from a local shop and they delivered and picked it up right from his campsite! It was in good condition and worked out great. - Swim beach does not get cleaned !! But it's very popular. Most visitors put chairs under one of the many trees so shade and a persistent breeze are very nice. - Nearest town, of any size, is Pen Yan. It has the typical small town stores. - Kayaks can be unloaded at the main beach area parking then carried down to water. That's what we did. The carry is down a grassy hill maybe 1500' walk. We found it best to check wind direction then start kayak into the wind and come back with the wind.1 year ago Keuka Lake State Park
- Ken Beckley You are the Finger Lakes wine country with over 100 wineries and breweries mostly across Keuka Lake, Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake all within an hours drive.1 year ago Keuka Lake State Park
