This was our first RV resort, and we thought it was very nice indeed. We've in a Class B motorhome, so our site was plenty large enough for us. We were on an end, so we only had neighbors on one side....

The campground location to the entrance to Zion National Park was outstanding. We used the campground store which was very reasonably priced. Used the laundry facility which was nice but expensive....

Tip for Other Campers:

The best advice I can give is ride a bike into the park. Outstanding. We brought our own but there are many e-bike rental companies.

Tips from campers about Zion Canyon Campground and RV Resort

  • eroyceus The Canyon is well described elsewhere. Not open to private vehicles while the Shuttle is running. Book the shuttle the day before at 9am (all tickets go online for sale at that time for the next day). Save money if you're touring at several NPS by buying an annual pass. It's worth driving on route 9 through the tunnel to the east side as long as you have a smallish RV. You get a different viewpoint than in the Canyon itself: red rocks and much drier. We're older and with dodgy knees so we liked the Emerald Pools trail (either from the Lodge or the Grotto). We also liked riding our e-bikes all the way into the Canyon. It's a great way to go and you're not dependent on the Shuttle.
  • rockymountainRVer Go very early into to ZNP, especially if you will be hiking the Narrows. The first ZNP bus leaves at 6:30 am. Know that the Springdale bus does not take passengers back towards town from the ZNP visitor center until after 1:30 pm. The bus line found passengers would get on the bus on the inbound side and ride it back around to the outbound side to get to ZNP, creating an always full bus. None the less, those buses are usually full until noon. Thus the reason we selected Zion Campground and RV park. Try the Whiptail Grill at the top of the RV park street, good food. Stock up your food items in your RV before arriving at Springdale. The grocery stores have a captive market and prices are exorbitant, inflation or not (half gallon of milk $6.89). Stop at the Walmart in Hurricane before traveling on to Springdale.
  • AZ Aurora We rode our ebikes from the campground to the Parus trail and into the park. It was close and easily accessible! We went early (8am) and it was nice and cool and shady almost the entire way! We ate at the Spotted Dog Cafe across the streetfood and service were terrific, but its a little more high end than your usual cafe. Also had breakfast at Memes down the street where they have AMAZING crepes!

Basically the main thing this park has to recommend it is location, location, location. And you can't beat that view. This is the closest RV place to Zion for sure. You can walk to the visitor center...

Epic hikes for all ages! Angles Landing (which we did) requires a special permit, online registration required. We also rode our tandem bike up the canyon to the narrows - beautiful!

Friendly staff at registration. Spaces are very close to each other. The park is on a pretty good slope, but the staff has done a good job of making each site level. Did not have to use any blocks to...

Tip for Other Campers:

Great location to catch the shuttle to Zion NP or ride a bike or walk in. Would definitely have bikes or rent bikes for a trip into the park. Electric bike rentals were everywhere in the town and park.
