“Great spot close to Yellowstone ”
Nightly Rate: $10 USD
This is a great spot as a base camp for the parks. Located off the highway but far enough not to hear it. Easy to get into spots with our 36ft trailer. Clean, mostly level gravel spots. Has bear boxes...

Nightly Rate: $20 USD
Beautiful location with river running next to campgrounds. Site had water and electric. No dump site and toiare vault. We camped at Rex Hale Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Tip for Other Campers:
Fill up gas in Cody because Yellowstone is huge and gas is expensive in park...
Tips from campers about Rex Hale Campground
- MARTIN EATON Of course Yellowstone is probably why youre looking in this area. It is only about ten minutes from this camp. We took many day trips into the park even once entering in the east entrance and exiting at the northeast entrance and driving through Montana and back into Cody, WY and then to the camp in one day. Speaking of Cody, WY make sure you have a couple days or more to spend there, especially if you enjoy the Wild West. You need two days to see the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum. The entrance fee is good for two days! It is actually five museums!!! And every night at 8pm the town hosts a rodeo.2 years ago Rex Hale Campground
- MK_Willi Campground is 16 miles from the East gate so a good base to explore Yellowstone National Park, especially the Yellowstone Lake area.3 years ago Rex Hale Campground
- RSerendipity Make sure to fill water tanks. No Dump station but Buffalo Bill State park up road to Cody, WY did have dump station for a fee. Great hiking in area, just do not forget Bear Spray. If in area do not miss the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody4 years ago Rex Hale Campground
