There is so much to do in the area. Rapid City down town has a walking tour great places to eat and plenty of parking free or metered. Had a great burger at the Firehouse Brewing Company which was in the old Rapid City Fire Dept building. Mt Rushmore is free to visit and only cost us $5 for parking. We spent a day at Noah's Ark water park spending money to rent a cabana to ensure we would have a shaded place to sit while our handicapped son enjoyed the slides. This is the RV capitol of the U.S. That being said you will need reservations for places like Battle Born Batteries and other vendors.

Our site was pull through and very level. There is not shade at most of the sites. We camped at Whitaker Campground Camp Atterbury in a Travel Trailer.

Close to Neal Armstrong Musuem, also in the area is the Airstream Factory and less than an hour from the National Museum United States Air Force (this museum takes hours to go through)
