We stopped so we could do the Caverns of Sonora, no other reason. Not sure what I was expecting but I believe they were exceptional. Very cool.

This was a gem in disguise! It is rather remote but it's also the gateway to Big Bend National Park. Water pressure wasn't great. Utilities worked just fine otherwise. Laundry on sight and reasonable....

The little town of Eagle Nest is small. All the shops are great. We liked the Trading Post, and the Saloon had great burgers. The gas station had good prices. The Visitors Center and staff is a wealth of information for both the immediate area and surrounding. There is a lot to see in the area, but nothing is close, be prepared to drive a fair distance....

The roads are dirt/gravel. The perimeter roads are adequate. The interior roads are treacherous, dangerous go slow! The sites are pull-thru grass and gravel area, not level. The utilities worked well...
