Question: I will be working while we stay here for a month in April. I use my Verizon Hot Spot, how is the Verizon service? My husband has AT&T, how is AT&T service? TIA
Answer:
We have Verizon and have always had good service at Distant Drums. I can't speak to the reliability of AT&T though. Nice park to stay at, if you haven't been before!...
This a very charming little park nestled in a lovely farming community. We stopped for one night in our motor home. The park is well maintained, sites are level, and the laundry room was among the...

Tip for Other Campers:
Note their entry sign just says Welcome Campground - no reference to Korte Checkers, which caused us to drive right by it at first.
We stopped one night and found this park to be clean and well maintained. I was concerned about one review that mentioned the pool was in bad shape and the park appeared to have had some rough times....

Tip for Other Campers:
This a is very small town of about 200, so other than one cafe and a local grocery store (BJs), there is not much else there. We did go to BJs and found it to be well stocked with essentials, including a nice produce section.
Beautiful campground with tons of trees. Level sites and very quiet park. Nice stop for overnight or several days, as the park offers several recreational activities. We camped at Lebanon Hills...

Tip for Other Campers:
There is a Cubs Market a couple miles away that is a very nice store - has everything you might need to restock.
Question: Were interested in staying here for the month of January, is it a good choice for long term stay?
Answer:
This a is very nice park - gated entrance, clean and well run. Not many mature trees, as I recall, so the area is definitely very desert-like (and it's a newer park). Other than some day trips to Taos and Santa Fe, there isn't a lot to do and if I recall, it's kind of away from any major cities. However, if you are just looking for a nice park to spend the month and are mostly going to either take day trips or stay put, I do not think you would be disappointed. We enjoyed our stay for a couple nights....
