Tip for Other Campers:
There are wineries in the area which were very enjoyable. The Natural History Museum in Houston was exceptional. An ale house just east of the park provided exceptional and unique food - the only drawback was it is beer only and I wanted a cocktail.

There are a number of nice wineries in the area (and we tried to hit them all). San Antonio is a drive but the river walk and Alamo were worth it.

Tip for Other Campers:
Get out and enjoy the area. We enjoyed the Houmas Plantation tour and gardens. We played a round of golf at the local public 9 hole course which needs a lot of work but wasnt very expensive.
