Wed Dec 02 2020I called this campground yesterday. It's located on Luke AFB. I was told only active duty military personnel and military retirees are authorized to use the campground. Are the 2 people that submitted comments active duty or retired?...

My understanding is that “military only” camping has very recently expanded to include veterans with service related disabilities. I read this recently in a VA newsletter/email, but can’t document it further....

Retired military can use any Service's MWR facilities and campgrounds....

Military Recreation Areas are normally available to the public, BUT access to the military base, which the RV Park is on charges with Department of Defense's threat condition. Therefore, as a civilian, it can be difficult to plan a stop to a mitary installation. If you visit the base web page, you can usually see an installation access page that tells you how to get a visitors pass or if it's even possible....
