• Question:

What does upgrading to KOA Standards actually mean. I wouldn't think they could move a freeway to one side of the park and a busy rail line to the other side. Maybe it includes spreading fine dust onto the roadways so every vehicle driving by can send up a cloud. Seriously, in my opinion, KOA's are usually the road hard and put up wet campgrounds, aka, the bottom of the barrel, and usually charge the highest rates in an area. And yes, there are a few nice ones, very few, the one just up the road from the Grand Ole Opry was very nice, but $150 a night. And the one in Petaluma is pretty nice too. Some are more basic, like the KOA Journey in Kingman and Visalia, some are very upscale like Nashville, Petaluma, and Pigeon Forge. Being part of the KOA chain ensures basic standards and a concern for your satisfaction. Most likely this one in time will live up to the KOA standards, especially since they're rating it at a "Holiday" level....
