Tips from campers about Monument, CO
- We Roamed and Rambled Birding is the top attraction here, and if youre a birder you probably already know of all the sites, some within walking distance of the RV park. For restaurants, needs to drive 20+ minutes to either Winnie or Crystal Beach. Only grocery store, Market Basket, is also in Winnie, as well as slightly more economical re-fueling stations. - JohnTh It's the birding. The town of High Island doesn't have a whole bunch of amenities, though the beach is close by. But during spring migration, it is one of the best places to watch birds in the country, and this park is ideally placed - you can walk to most of the birding spots.
