Tips from campers about Florence, OR

  • ChrisandColleen Just an overnight, did not go exploring except to beach.
  • PolarBadger Waterfront Depot worth booking, as is Restobar and Nosh. Can recommend these places. All three are small and busy. Sea Lion caves are a shorter visit than we had guessed at but impressive and NOISY. Also a bit smelly so suggest vaseline for under the nose... We went when it wasn't that crowded but I suspect it would suck if it was really busy as the viewing area is pretty small. In winter the seals, Herons and waterbirds are constantly on the docks and river area so it's a lovely nature spot. Dec/Jan is VERY windy and wet - be warned. It's still a lovely place to be, but waterproofs are essential!
  • LcG53 Well situated, close to Heceta Beach, close to stores, groceries, gas station in town (Florence)
