Tips from campers about Stanislaus National Forest, Pinecrest Campground
- WeRVwithDogs We tried to drive to the top of Mt Taylor, (about a half hour drive to the base) but we made it to about 9500 feet before the accumulated snow stopped us. We hiked El Calderon, which was a very pretty hike. Lots of pine trees - I wouldn't say the cone is spectacular, but a pretty 3 mile hike. Not too far from the campground is the Sandstone Bluff, which was fun exploring all the different views as the sun set.
- Wind River Wildcat Dan 11 miles South of I-40
- StoneWolf&CountryGirl The dip might be too much for a fifth wheel.
