Crystal River, Inverness, Homosassa, Yankee Town lots of parks for walking, and biking. Great restaurants on the water with fresh catch.

- SomebodyInGNV Google Maps said this was closed, open only on Sunday. Not true. It's open 24/7. There is no gate. The "water recreation" seems to be a former gravel pit. Take a drive to Homosassa, FL and have a woodfire pizza and home brews at "Florida Cracker" while overlooking "Monkey Island". There are a few options for eating out nearby. Theres a little food store just north of the park and a dollar general that has a mini grocery inside. Its got everything too!If you want to drive into Dunnellon, about 10-12 miles, youll have access to Walmart, tractor supply and any thing else youd need.

Lots to do. Wish Id booked longer than a week. Highlights I recommend are Homosassa Wildlife State Park (take the boat over) and Three Sisters Springs (so many manatees). Also be sure to check the new main office and gift shop for Three Sisters down the road (ask for directions). The Monkey Bar where you can have a drink and pizza while watching the antics...
