  ELamp11 Very close to Rushmore, Custer SP, grasslands NP and Crazy Horse. There are also many cute small towns (hill city, Custer, keystone, etc.) There were so many lakes and hikes and drives to take in this beautiful part of the country. Highly recommend Spearfish Canyon, Jewel Cave NM, and the many lakes. We went to the Air and Space Museum, Mammoth Site and many other fun activities. Chapel in the Hills was super cool! Check out Rushmore Brewery (Pounding Fathers is upstairs restaurant and is best). We also enjoyed Skogen Kitchen for our anniversary (expensive but fantastic) Rapid City is close by which has Walmart, Walgreens, etc. we rented Ebikes and took a day on Mickelsen Trail!!!

  Tom9047 Eat at the Alpine Inn in Hill City. Dinner menu offer only 2 entrees: Filet or Spaetcle... both were excellent & you can't beat the price. Get there at 3:45 pm and get in line for a pager which is issued at 4 pm for the first seating at 5 pm. You can then hit the shops along the main street until you get paged at 5 pm (but be close by the restaurant at 5 pm).
