Tip for Other Campers:
The steam train ride is the main (maybe the only) reason to visit this area and it's a great adventure. The tracks back up against the campground so you get to see the train twice each day. Not many choices for restaurants or groceries and some restaurants aren't open 7 days a week though to be fair, I visited the area late September and that may have had...

Doing the train of course! A little shopping in town with a few cute shops. Beautiful scenery out of town to NE. Some mosquitoes out around 6ish while cooking out. But not bad.

Not many choices for restaurants or groceries and some restaurants aren't open 7 days a week though to be fair, I visited the area late September and that may have had an effect. You could walk to the train station if desired.5 months ago Rio Chama RV Park

We've been staying here for years and will continue to come back. New owner made a few nice changes, like putting in a laundry for the campers. The spaces are pretty close together but we can live...

Even a doe and fawn came thru the campgrounds. River backs up to property. Friendly and easy to find. We camped at Rio Chama RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
