Tip for Other Campers:
The beach is 1.2 miles away on foot. I loved watching the Elk and their babies meander through. They have a fun zone, playground, multiple activity buildings and grilling stations. As for local attractions we just got here- but I do know the Goonies was filmed in Astoria and the house they saved is still there for all you 80s movie buffs. My aunt recommends...

Tips from campers about Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA Resort
- Wellfooled Recreation Station in Reedsport has the best broasted chicken on the OR coast, maybe W. coast, maybe both coasts, hands down. Don't miss. And whether you go N. for Oregon Dunes National Rec Area, Florence OR, the Darlingtonia Californica State site (look it up), the Sealion caves, and Heceta Head lighthouse, or S. for the Umpqua lighthouse, Spinreel Dune Buggy Rentals, and Coos Bay, you will be treated to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, bar none.4 years ago Winchester Bay RV Resort
- TomE The park is on a finger of land that juts out into the bay, so it's surround by water except on one side. Plenty of restaurants near by. There is a public crabbing pier about 1/4 mile toward the ocean. There is access to the Oregon Dunes about 1/2 mile away, and just a bit further is the Umpqua Bay lighthouse. The town of Reedsport is just a few miles north on Hwy. 101 with some nice restaurants and good antique shopping. There is a regional chainsaw carving contest every father's day. South of Winchester Bay, about 20 miles is the North Bend/Coos Bay area with more restaurants, two casino's and access to some spectacular coastal sites like Shore Acres State Park, Sunset Beach and the Charleston Boat Basin.1 year ago Winchester Bay RV Resort
- Blackfish Easy walk to light house, or even the sand dunes area.1 year ago Winchester Bay RV Resort

This had been one of my favorite KOAs. It is huge. We were in Space 339, plenty of room for RV, tow vehicle, and extra car. Super dog and kid friendly. Open field nearby with Elk. State park literally...

Tip for Other Campers:
Fort Stephen's state park across the street. Lots of nice walking or biking paths for self and doggies. Downtown Astoria really nice, and go across bridge to Washington to check out the lighthouses. Also visit Tillamook for cheese:). There is a field connected to KOA that toy can see elk dawn and dusk each day.

Tip for Other Campers:
Fort Stevens (entrance across from campground), is a good place to visit with lots of trails and paved bike paths. Astoria has shops, a good maritime museum and the tram is worth a ride.
