  Choxnpinz150 Black Powder Smokehouse in Jamestown is a bit of a drive, but has the best BBQ meats around. Go on a Tuesday for their smoked pork belly and brisket. Get there early, as they sell out quickly. No good Chinese food in the area, pizza is mediocre at best, and the chain restaurants are what you'd expect for a depressed area.

  Grunthog Hops BBQ in Asheboro is an institution and is worth a visit for good bbq or a reasonable meal. We went to the Hamilton Steakhouse for brunch and it was excellent. The antique stores in Asheboro are worth a visit.
