Primarily seasonal sites with a few open for transient campers. Plenty of open spaces for the dogs. We camped at Char-Bo Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Tip for Other Campers:
Newport was worth visiting with hiking trails along the east side of the lake all the way to Canada. Nice ice cream spot in town.
Tips from campers about Char-Bo Campgrounds
- tbm1997164 If you enjoy hiking Vogel Canyon is an interesting place to go. Bent's Fort is a must do. Seeing the trail where the pioneers traveled is always overwhelming; the Sierra Vista Overlook has a trail that you can hike that runs along the Santa Fe Trail.6 months ago La Junta KOA Journey

Tip for Other Campers:
There is easy access to Lake Salem for fishing. If you have a boat, there is a small boat lauch and dock. Additionally there are several other beautiful lakes nearby with access if you want to do fishing or lake swimming. Close to Canadian border. Grocery Stores less than 5 miles away in Derby and Newport as well as drug stores, etc. Highly recommend this...
