Tips from campers about Black Earth, WI
- RT TRAILS Not far East from Altus, where the Air Force base is located. Visit Altus to have breakfast at Sunrise Cafe or lunch at Salt Fork Drafthouse or Western Sizzlin. Washed Laundromat is the best around for getting your clothes cleaned. The Men's Groom Barber Shop is the place for the perfect cut. For a latte and a panini lunch, Just Brew it is a top notch place. There is a Walmart for groceries. East of the campground is Cache, Oklahoma, with Quanah Parker Star House (now hidden and run down - very sad,) the Holy City of the Witchitas, the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge and The Comanche Nation Casino (Lawton, OK, casino is bigger and better than the one in Cache). Have a delicious burger lunch at the Meers Store and Restaurant in Meers, OK.2 years ago Great Plains State Park
- derrickallard The closest gas station was about 30 miles away. The route we took coming from San Antonio, TX had very few gas stations3 years ago Great Plains State Park
- Sir Captain Morgan All the sites along the lake are great! They all have a large grassy area leading up to a walking trail along the lake shore where there are story boards every 100 feet or so.2 weeks ago Great Plains State Park
