There is a large assortment of places to see and things to do around Camp Verde. Sedona and Cottonwood are not too far away where even more things can be had for fun and hiking.

There are practically no grocery stores in town. The one market we went to was a glorified convenience store. The prices were outlandish - 6-pack of beer, a few cokes and chips $21. I found out later there is another grocery store that I overlooked. I can't comment on their prices, so you should check them first.
This a typical PA park. It's older and rather rundown. It is small with probably 20 or so spots. Around the perimeter, most of the folks look to be year-rounders. The office is run down, the bathrooms...

In December, it appeared most of the restaurants were closed, but perhaps being a small town, they went out of business. We did manage to find a few nice places to eat, so all is not lost.
