“Easy access to interstate”
Nightly Rate: $48 USD
We stayed here for a quick overnight stop. It is right off the interstate and easy to find. It is perfect for an overnight stay while traveling through the Knoxville area. Despite the proximity to the...

Tip for Other Campers:
We ate at a little local restaurant about 15 minutes away from the campground. Smokehouse Bar and Grill. Little local place. It was outstanding with some live music and good food....
“Great KOA with lots to do and only 30 minutes from Charleston”
Nightly Rate: $99 USD
Great campground to spend a few days while touring the area. There are many activities at the campground and my kids were always busy. There is fishing, boating, bike rentals. It is close to shopping...

Tip for Other Campers:
The city market in downtown Charleston has something for everyone. We also booked a carriage ride and ghost tour of the town, which is a great idea, however, on a busy Saturday night, traffic was quite loud and you cant even hear the tour guide or enjoy the carriage ride. Not really recommended during peak season....
“Closest campground to Monticello”
Nightly Rate: $73 USD
We stayed here on our way down south while on vacation. We picked the campground due to its proximity to Monticello. It is about 20 minutes away. The campground is off the beaten path and some of the...

Tip for Other Campers:
Monticello was quite the experience. My kids and us parents all enjoyed it. Paid for a basic tour and it was well worth seeing and learning some history. There is RV parking at the grounds if needed. Downtown Charlottesville is very quaint with some nice restaurants and shopping. Nice college town with some history....
“Close to Mammoth Cave National Park”
Nightly Rate: $52 USD
'Luxury bathrooms with the best toilet paper!' Those were the words of my teenage daughter. Very clean and nice campground. Pull through sites were level. Office staff was helpful and kind. It is a...

Tip for Other Campers:
Mammoth Cave National Park is 20 minutes away. I would recommend booking a tour ahead of time. We were able to get a self-guided tour, which is very limited in what you can see. If you want to explore the cave in depth (pun intended), I would book a tour and not do the self-guided tour. We tried booking 3 days in advance, and they were essentially sold out....
“Spacious, beautiful, quiet sites”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
We do not camp in state parks often, but this was a pleasant experience and worth it. Sites were very spacious. Secluded. Plenty of room. As expected, wifi was limited. Despite some hilly areas in the...

Tip for Other Campers:
We stayed here as a home base to see New River Gorge National Park and do some rafting. We booked through adventures on the gorge. The launch area and park entrance is about 45 minutes away. The area is very beautiful with rolling hills within the Appalachians. I would definitely come back again to tour the area if we had more time. My boys had a great time...
