Tips from campers about Gladstone, IL

  • ArtsRick Cape Flattery is a big draw if youre not fishing. The trail is about a mile. And this will be your cardio workout for the day. I suspect the top half of the trail is an access road, steep but driveable. The tribe put a lot of work into the bottom half where a lot of it is a raised walkway with steps. Still a lot of mud to navigate. There are some Makah People attractions here.
  • qdaemon We find it is convenience to stay in nearest town to where we want to be. In this case, visiting Cape Flattery and checking out Neah Bay itself. However, it does take about 15-20 minutes (rougly 8miles) to get to Cape's trail parking. So if you don't mind that, then Cape RV Resort is the place we recommend. However, if you want closer and on a real beach (Neah Bay really doesn't have any beach that you or the kids can play on), we suggest you look at Hobuck Beach Resort. There are two areas at Hobuck Beach Resort. Driving and checking out both, we think the smaller area (the big area is where the main office is, and you need to check in there) at the corner of Makah Passage and Farm Camp Rd is where you want to be. Direct beach view, through not a lot of spaces (so not a lot of people). Anyway, check it on your favorite Intenet maps site (e.g., Google Maps, et al), and you'll see what we mean.
