Tips from campers about Adel, IA
- Art & Joanne Looks like a lot of stuff for kids.4 weeks ago Des Moines West KOA Holiday
- braves6065 We stayed here to visit the John Wayne Birthplace and the Bridges of Madison County. The John Wayne Birthplace was very interesting and worth the visit. After you visit the birthplace be sure to spend time around the local square. When visiting the Bridges be prepared for a lot of driving on gravel roads with plenty of dust. However, the bridges are worth visiting. Winterset City Park has many wood carvings worth looking and it has a replica of one of first covered bridges. There are very few places to eat in Winterset, we did find the Sports Page Sports Bar for a really good hamburger and fries. There is a car wash on Hwy 92 east of John Wayne Dr. that can handle a large truck. I can't say enough about the wonderful staff and sites at this park. There are many full timers with kids so it can get a little noisy while the activities are going on. We enjoyed watching the kids during the activities. We stayed here twice, once for the John Wayne Birthplace and on our way back from Dyersville (Field Of Dreams) heading home.5 months ago Des Moines West KOA Holiday
- ShaneLinda We enjoyed the Hunts pizza that is available at the park. After a long day on the road we didn't want to cook.5 months ago Des Moines West KOA Holiday
