Tips from campers about Loving, NM

  • JackieD The commuter train (trolley) worked great for going into San Diego. Plenty of free parking where you catch the trolley. Cost for seniors is only $1.25 one way. Can't beat that! No worrying about parking in San Diego which is expensive. Plenty of stops. Santee has just about any stores you need including Costco.
  • Edies It is a bit of a tight turn into the entrance with a 44' + tow. If there is a car coming down the campground road, someone will have to wait at the turn. The road is narrow from the entrance to the campground so we pulled as far over as we could when a rig was passing us on their way out. There is room though. If you use RV Life Trip Wizard and see where you have to go under an overpass, it was tall enough for our rig which is 12'8". It doesn't look like it when you use the drive mapping on the website. We did the hike down to the Mushroom House. If the right time of year, drive up to the Carlsbad Flower Fields. You can see them for free or pay for all the activities on the busy side. Lots to do within driving distance from this location no matter your age or interests.
  • Roaminbees Electric is not included and is expensive in san diego county. Please be very careful of pets a lot of coyotes roam and wait under trailers to prey.
