Question: Did you feel safe when staying this close to the border?
Answer:
Did not feel unsafe at all. So much of the publicity is propaganda. We were also in Mexico and did had no problems or fears....

Nightly Rate: $40 USD
We are backed up to their beach. Great setting. Fishing pier is very nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. We camped at Holiday Campground in a Motorhome.

Marshes Sand beach is very nice for walking the dogs. Visit St. Marks and Alligator point.

Tip for Other Campers:
Be sure to try the Greenbriar Restraunt. We had catfish and hush puppies. Great food but it is 20 to 25 minutes from the campground. Decatur is bigger than you might think and it is a long trip to Walmart.

Tip for Other Campers:
Take the shuttle bus downtown to Country Music Hall of Fame. Don't try to drive. When downtown go to Martin's Bar b que joint, a short walk from the Hall of Fame. It was simply great.
