Tips from campers about Strum, WI
- Cloudwlkr Showers are a toonie but use the new building not the old one.
- MacW0lf There is a great grocery store very close and firewood at the shell as well as another firewood shop behind the bakery towards the back of the parking lot. Nice walking paths all around the area.
- We Roamed and Rambled If coming from the east, be aware that the exit from the Trans-Canada Highway will take you under a bridge posted as 3.9 meters high, in the center, that currently has no signs whatsoever on the exit ramp to warn you of the relatively low height! Be prepared for relentless clouds of mosquitos in June. Falcon Creek self-guided loop trial on other side of Highway 1/TCD is nice, about 2km long. Lots of other hiking and biking trails in area, but many can be swampy in the Spring. The Nest Caf in the townsite is good, as is the Nite Hawk Caf in West Hawk. The mini-golf course, walkable from campground, is very nice in a beautifully landscaped setting, and is not your typical kiddie-type course. A bit pricey though at $12 CAD per person.
