Tips from campers about Farmington, NM
- Trigeekbil Pack in all you need. There's a Dollar General about 5 miles away but that's it.4 years ago Cherry Hill Recreation Area
- BDsNoBo We didn't take any of the hikes at the campground, but did hike Yellow Branch Falls (nice) and King Creek Falls (very nice!). Another day we ventured up into North Caroline to hike Whitewater Falls. There is a paved walk to the overlook of the lower falls and a better view if you can deal with 150+ steps. (Note: if you use AllTrails, the trail to the upper falls does not result in a decent view.) We then drove a little further to Gorges State Park (beautiful with great visitor center) to hike to Rainbow Falls--probably the best hike of our stay. Don't expect much to be open in Walhalla on Sunday; all of the non-chain coffee shops/restaurants were closed except the Kountry Kupboard, which is closed between 10-11.10 months ago Cherry Hill Recreation Area
- Norton Wine Traveler Remember that you will be miles away from any grocery stores or restaurants, so prepare accordingly.2 years ago Cherry Hill Recreation Area
