The park surrounds a small reservoir in the mountains, a few miles from Mesa Verde National Park. Wakeless boating is allowed on the water and it seems to be popular with local anglers. Tucked in...

Tip for Other Campers:
A half-hour drive from the park leads to the little town of Dolores, home of two interesting museums. In town is the Rio Grande Southern Railroad Museum, home of Galloping Goose #5. These uniquely Colorado, automobile based railroad vehicles served the mining communities of Rico and Telluride in the 1940. Near town sits the Anasazi Heritage Center, which...

Park sits between the railroad tracks and the interstate highway. It's noisey. Very noisey. Sites are nice with many available for full hookup. We camped at James M. Robb Colorado River State Park,...

Sites sit in the woods and are very narrow. Entry to many, ours included, require a 90-degree backup between trailer- and fender-crunching trees. Many of those trees were oaks and with any wind or...

Tip for Other Campers:
We found the tour of the tug John Purves at the Door County Maritime Museum to be interesting. For dining, try dinner at the classic Greenwood Supper Club in Fish Creek, which has been owned and run by the same family for 90 years and counting. The ferry to Washington Island offers interesting sites to explore, and from there, a small passenger ferry goes...

Loved this park. Restroom facilities were small, but appeared to be brand new and well cleaned. Nice dump station. Lots of room between sites. We camped at Whitewater State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Clean restrooms. Sites well spaced and easy to back into. Friendly staff. The 26-mile Neil Smith bike trail passes right by the park. We camped at Cherry Glen in a Travel Trailer.
