The park is located on the outskirts of Laredo. We drove into Laredo but did not find much of interest to see or do. We did enjoy the trails and biked around the park. Lots of fishing going on!

There is not a great deal to do on Padre Island, however we enjoyed walking on the beach, and walking the trails in the Port Aransas area. It is possible to safely cycle along the roads.
