Tip for Other Campers:
The park has a north walking boardwalk where you can see numerous alligators lying in the sun. Also we saw wild horses behind the visitors center. There are a couple of fishing piers and a boat ramp. Bathhouse is very nice.
Question: Based on reviews there seems to not be any cell service in the upper campground, what about the lower campground?
Answer:
In our experience, the cellular signal was poor in the entire campground. However this is a great place to visit even with no cell service. You should go there irregardless of the cell issues....

Sites are concrete pads with easy connections. There is a golf course that is part of the park. We camped at Madison RV and Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tip for Other Campers:
The town of Madison is small but there are a couple of grocery stores and fuel is available in town. Follow the directions that are sent with your reservation to avoid a couple of tight turns.

Tip for Other Campers:
Only 30 mins to downtown Pensacola and there are canoeing rentals available nearby. The river is beautiful and has numerous sandy shoreline areas.
