Question: How can I tell which sites in D loop are full sun? We want an open space with little to no trees. I see some sites say shaded or partial and some don’t say anything. I booked site 171 but don’t know if it’s full sun.
Answer:
The trees that are tall enough to cast shade are all pines, and they don't hang over the parking pads. You should have sun in #171 most of the day. There might be some shade on the back end if you back all the way up, depending on whether the sun is still to the south or not. Look at Google earth view....
Question: How is the WiFi at the RV campground sites?
Answer:
My notes from several years ago say they had wifi with no password (so, not secured). It is very close to town, though, and AT&T and T-Mobile devices had good service. There are repeaters in the park, so if you use their wifi (assuming it's still broadcasting) it probably depends on your site in relation to the repeaters....
Question: Is the central water spigot potable water?
Answer:
The dump station is called a "dump and fill", pretty sure there's potable water there as well as scattered throughout the campground....
Question: Has anyone stayed here in larger Class A? Many of the sites seem plenty long enough (when looking at Google Earth) but the booking engine has limits on RV length that are much shorter than our 44' Dutch Star.
Answer:
We stayed in our 45' fifth wheel that we pull with a Freightliner, so we're 68' long. We stayed in site #G2. You can see our review from Nov. 2021. We hung over the back, but the site is 60' long and was wide enough to park the truck on the side....

This was our second time at this resort for our owners' group rally. It's a bit pricier that we normally choose, but it's worth it for this event. The hall was nice, the resort staff did a great job...

Tip for Other Campers:
Lots to do in the area, we've done most of it already because Rapid City is our domicile. Had good margaritas at Guadalahara in town.
